FAQs

I want to book my dog but I’m a new client. How does it work?

Please fill out the appropriate Booking Form above and we will contact you through WhatsApp to fix a FREE Meet N Greet. These meetings take around 30 minutes and take place either at our home for bookings such as Daycare, Dusky Paws and Overnight Boarding or, at your home for Home Visits, Walks and Overnight Homestays.

Definitely! Our services focus on providing individual attention and care to your dogs. This means typically there is a maximum of 2 dogs per sit (this may change for walks). When there are 2 dogs who don’t know each other, we always try to schedule for them to meet before the long sit away from their owners.

We frequently work with multiple sitters so that each dog in our care has a sitter’s full attention – especially on walks.

Yes! We are trained in Pet Sitting Care and Animal Behaviour and therefore, know how to handle reactive dogs. However, we do NOT accept aggressive dogs (dogs that are reactive, out of control and dangerous to us or others due to a lack of training). We understand that not all dogs are the same and that some are particularly fearful due to past experiences. Even when worked upon, these feelings may still come out towards other dogs, people or other triggers (eg. bicycles, motorbikes, cars etc.). It is important to provide us with detailed information about your dog’s behaviour and we will plan around avoiding their triggers and keeping them calm. We ask for a small additional fee to your booking for reactivity (more info in the Booking Forms).

Of course! It is important to let us know any particular behaviours your dogs may have due to their age and any training they’re currently going through for us to be able to plan our sit around what is best for your dogs. A custom walk can be discussed for dogs that can’t walk for 1 hour. We ask for a small additional fee to your booking for dogs under 18 months and those 9 years and older (more info in the Booking Forms).

This entirely depends on what you and your dog are comfortable with. Generally, clients bring: toys, treats, poo bags, any food if your dog will need it and anything particular that will make them feel more at home. For overnight bookings some clients prefer to bring their dog’s own bed, blankets or travel crate too. We do have toys, treats, poo bags and towels ourselves if you decide to only bring the essential – your pup!

We send frequent updates! We’ve been told our communication is always top-notch 😉 Our updates give you insight into how your dog is spending their time: we let you know how walks went, if they’ve eaten their food, how long it took them to settle down after you left, what games we’ve played and how many naps they’ve taken. We send photos/videos together with our text updates. You can expect at least 1 detailed update a day. If other sitters are involved in your dog’s care, you will still receive these updates through a WhatsApp group chat.

We really hope this will never be the case however, it is good to know that we are trained in basic Animal First Aid and have information about this on-hand. If the situation is resolvable by us within minutes, we will let you know immediately via text. Any further necessary steps will be taken in consultation with you. If the situation is NOT resolvable within minutes, the nearest hospital (Evidensia) will be contacted as well as the Dierenambulance if necessary. You will then be called ASAP for further consultation. Due to this, we always ask for an emergency contact if you will be unreachable/abroad and for your dog’s medical information/passport for long stays.

That’s perfectly fine! For a simple, once-a-day pill we don’t apply added fees unless the situation is particularly tricky (we will always tell you in advance!). For other medication such as injections etc. we will apply an added cost according to the request.

We have many weekly sits that take priority therefore, the sooner you know the dates and inform us, the more likely it is for us to be able to accommodate your booking. This is particularly the case if your dog is reactive or generally does not get along with other dogs. We ask for deposits for bookings made many months in advance or during holiday seasons. Outside of this, our cancellation policy involves paying 50% of the booking price when you are cancelling 1 day before the sit for day bookings and between 5 and 2 days before the start date for multiple-day bookings. We will ask for 100% of the booking price when you are cancelling on the day of the sit for day bookings and within 2 days of the start date for multiple-day bookings.
